Customized purchase order number

This app uses the short name of the 3-5 job and the initials of the employee in the Ordered By field entered in the 6-6-1 Purchase Orders screen to create a unique incremental purchase order number.

Setup:

  1. The job number and ordered by fields must be entered on a new 6-6-1 Purchase Order record before clicking the zMaxOneClick app.
  2. A short name must be entered on the 3-5 Job associated with the purchase order.
  3. The zMaxOneClick app must be clicked before the purchase order has been saved. Once saved, the purchase order number cannot be changed.

Steps:

  1. Open the 6-6-1 Purchase Orders screen.
  2. Enter all required fields as well as job number and ordered by into a new 6-6-1 Purchase Orders record.
  3. Before clicking save, click on the zMaxOneClick app and choose Generate PO#.
  4. Save the record.

Story:

Joe Contractor's company wants the job short name and the employee initials to be in the purchase order number. This is how they have always had their purchase order numbers set up.

Process:

Now they do not have to spend time looking up the next purchase order number for that job or worry about entering the incorrect number. The purchase order number is created with the click of the zMaxOneClick app.
