Create Subcontract #

Setup:

The job number field must be entered on a new 6-7-1 Subcontract record before clicking the zMaxOneClick app.
The zMaxOneClick app must be clicked before the subcontract has been saved. Once saved, the subcontract number cannot be changed.

Steps:

Open the 6-7-1 Subcontracts screen.
Enter all required fields and job number into a new 6-7-1 Subcontracts record.
Before clicking save, click on the zMaxOneClick app and choose Create Subcontract #.
Save the record.

Story:

Joe Contractor's company wants the subcontract number to be the job number and then increment alphabetically. They want to maintain consistency with how their subcontracts have always been. It is taking a lot of extra work to do this. If an employee does not pick the correct letter of the alphabet, they have to void the record and create a new one since the field locks once it is saved.

Process:

This app uses the job number entered in the 6-7-1 Subcontracts screen to create a unique incremental subcontract number.

Return on Investment:

Now they do not have to spend time looking up the next subcontract number for that job or worry about entering the incorrect number. The subcontract number is created with the click of the zMaxOneClick app.
