Create Takeoff

Takeoff created from work order

This app creates a 9-5 Takeoff based off of the data entered into the 11-2 Work Orders screen.

Setup:

  1. A job number must be entered on the 11-2 Work Orders screen.
  2. The app must be run from a saved 11-2 Work Order record.
  3. Fields that can be copied from the 11-2 screen to the 9-5 screen include: Job #, assembly #, assembly (, part #, part description, alpha part #, unit description, part quantity, price, extended quantity, extended price, cost code, cost type, inventory location, user defined, notes and the tax district from the 3-5 jobs screen.

Steps:

  1. Open the appropriate record in the 11-2 Work Orders Screen.
  2. Make sure that a job number has been entered and that the invoice details are correct.
  3. Click the zMaxOneClick app and choose Create Takeoff.
  4. Open the 9-5 Takeoffs screen and search the job number to view the exported takeoff.

Story:

Joe is a remodeling contractor who is always meeting with homeowners on-site to go over the items they would like to purchase. While he is on-site he enters assemblies with the potential sale items into the 11-2 screen using a tablet. When he gets back to the office, he then has to re-enter those assemblies into the 9-5 Takeoffs screen to provide the bid to the client as well as any future budgets, purchase orders, etc.

Process:

This app creates a 9-5 Takeoff based off of the data entered into the 11-2 Work Orders screen.

Return on Investment:

Duplicate data entry is eliminated and the turnaround on the proposal to the client is sped up.
