Create Work Order

Generate work order from job screen

This app copies data from a job entered in the 3-5 Accounts Receivable (Jobs) screen to create an 11-2 Work Order.

Setup:

  1. Job must be entered, saved and recalled in the 3-5 screen.
  2. The first contact from the contact list on the 3-5 screen goes into the contact name and phone number on the 11-2 screen.
  3. Job title for contact on line 1 must be 'Property Manager' (with a capital P and M).
  4. The second contact from the contact list on the 3-5 screen goes into the user def1 and user def2 fields on the 11-2 screen.
  5. Job title for contact on line 2 must be 'Homeowner' (with a capital H).

Steps:

  1. After the job has been entered, saved and recalled, click the zMaxOneClick app and Create Work Order.
  2. Open the 11-2 Work Order screen and display last record to display the created work order.
  3. Proceed with entering the work order information.

Story:

Joe Contractor takes 35 calls per day. When a new call comes in, he enters all of the job and customer information into the 3-5 screen. Then Joe Contractor goes into the 11-2 service screen to and create the work order. This process of re-entry takes approximately 3 minutes every time.

This app copies data from a job entered in the 3-5 Accounts Receivable (Jobs) screen to create an 11-2 Work Order.

Return on Investment:

Duplicate data entry is eliminated and the accuracy of the data is increased. Work order entry now takes less than a minute.
